Latest Updates from Our Project:

Posters a plenty!
over 1 year ago – Thu, Sep 29, 2022 at 03:08:41 AM

We are down to the final 8 days and I could not be happier! A huge thanks to all of you backers for taking a chance at some independently produced fantasy horror goodness. We've already almost doubled my funding goal, so not only is Wave 1 going to be in your hands soon, but our success here will pay for my ambitious Wave 2 casts!  And I am VERY excited to share those with you all in the future.

When I launched this Kickstarter, I made a very conscious choice to keep it contained and small-scale (no pun intended).  This was an initial test, an introduction to the world of Apocrypha, and a way to resource my more ambitious Wave 2 project.  So no stretch goals or surprise miniatures.  Wave 2 is coming and I didn't want it to seem like you had to hit any special targets to have the chance at it.

BUT since we are in our final week, I wanted to throw something extra out there for all you backers.  Just to say thank you for being a part of something so important to me and helping me make this a reality.  So…

Posters!

*Final designs may have minor edits or changes and will include the "Tales From Apocrypha" title logo.  Sorry, but I'm currently out of the country and cannot provide final mock-ups but I'm happy to answer any questions!*

Apocrypha has been in my mind long before I sculpted a miniature.  It came alive for me through concept art, collages, sketches, paintings, and a million other tiny moments of creative inspiration.  And now that we're finally here - at the start of what I hope will be a long journey - I want to share them with you.

Every one of my backers will receive - free of charge - one 11"x17" poster of the three lovely flayed faces below.  This poster will be a Kickstarter exclusive.  And while I will add to my selection of posters from time to time, you'll never see it again unless you've backed this Kickstarter.

The rest of the posters (and any additional "headstack" posters) will be available at the following additional add-on prices...

$12 for 1, $20 for 2, or $30 for 3, with no additional charge for shipping. The non-exclusives will be onsale on my website after, but not at these prices. All you have to do is add the additional costs to your pledge and allocate what poster you want during the add-on survey after the Kickstarter.

"HEADSTACK" - KS Exclusive - 1 free included, $12 for additional

** Final Poster subject to changes before final scan and print**

"The Beetles" - $12

Spore Soldiers - The Enokiknights
over 1 year ago – Mon, Sep 26, 2022 at 12:52:44 AM

Last but not least on the close-ups list are the first two sculpts I made for this project - The Enokiknights!  These two fungal forms can be found in both the "All In" pledge and "The Enokiknights" box.  Broken blades in hand, these creatures roam the damp darkness of Apocrypha - but to what end?

Even here, in the blood-soaked soils of Apocrypha, there is a cycle of succession.  Of life and death and re-purposing.  Twisting through the rusting remains of fallen warriors, these martial mushrooms feed on their sacrifice - their decay nurturing something new.  Life will always finds its way.

But not all of these fungi are warriors. Sometimes the corroded axe is left behind and large blooms of spore-riddled caps bulge out of the moss-riddled husk of a corpse. These wandering “Enokispore Singers” are surrounded by thick spore clouds, making them particularly dangerous to breathe around.

Care to learn more about these blood-born fungi? Stay tuned for Tales From Apocrypha episode 3 coming November 2nd!

The men of silver and iron - Knight of Inagott
over 1 year ago – Fri, Sep 16, 2022 at 08:47:56 AM

Next on the close-ups list is the Knight of Inagott!  Found in both the "All In" pledge and the "Intro to Apocrypha" box, the men of Inagott are some of the toughest mortals in Apocrypha.

They dwell in mighty Inagott, a brutal land filled with martial people bred - knowingly or not - for one thing:  to protect the silver maw.

Despite maintaining only a small kingdom on the outskirts of old Apocrypha proper, those of Inagott see themselves as the rightful rulers of Apocrypha. To be fair, this is no small feat given the extreme dangers looming over them on all fronts.  The silver brushed Archaeon Vorr rules the elite soldiers of Inagott with an iron fist and a will of steel.  And so he must because as the ravenous silver maw at the heart of their kingdom demands sacrifice.  Though not just to it...

You can learn more about these plate covered men in Episode 2 of Tales from Apocrypha, coming October 5th!

Oh blessed Rot - The Lazarus
over 1 year ago – Wed, Sep 14, 2022 at 10:06:38 AM

Next on the close-ups list is The Lazarus!   This strange and moldy godhead can be found in both the "All In" pledge and "The Lazarus" box.  Carried by its gangrenous disciples…this musty blessing stands in its consecrated pot -  forever watered, forever rotting.

The devotees of the Lazarus are former Hansenittes,  "blessed" and forever changed from their time spent with the divine. Those who've made it to the other side of that transformation stalk the wheat fields in search of more Hansenittes to liberate with Lazarus' "gift".

None but the chosen few know where the Lazarus' latent lair lies. But the Pontiff is  constantly in hunt of those who undermine his authority. Those followers of Lazarus caught by the Pontiff are never seen or heard from again.

Care to learn more about the rites of "blessing" bestowed on the devout? Stay tuned for Tales From Apocrypha episode 2 - The Lazarus, coming October 7th!

The Wickered Ones - Hansenitte Militia
over 1 year ago – Sun, Sep 11, 2022 at 11:09:43 AM

Next on the close-ups list is the Hansenitte Militia!  Found in both the "All In" pledge and the "Intro to Apocrypha" box, this leper was a humble farmer (un)lucky enough to have his number pulled in one of the Pontiffs’ many drafts.

The Hansenittes keep mostly to their pastoral lands in and around the “Lazaret”, an ancient stone tower and isolated hamlet built in old Apocrypha and still somewhat standing despite the ravages of time. Today’s dwellers are descendants of those original pox-riddled pariahs once caged within this place.

The Lazaret is ruled by the last living heir to the throne of ancient Apocrypha - THATMUS VIII - who dwells forever obscured in the stone tower at the center of town. Or at least that’s what the Pontiff, voice of the king and true ruler of the Lazaret, claims.
